Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has officially flagged off the reconstruction of the long-neglected 70KM Lagos-Sango Ota-Abeokuta road, a project that has been in limbo for over two decades.

The contract has been awarded to Craneburg Construction, which mobilized equipment to the site earlier this month to initiate palliative measures, making parts of the road more navigable while full reconstruction begins.

Governor Abiodun highlighted the bureaucratic hurdles that delayed the project, noting that the road was only transferred to the state government this year after persistent appeals to the federal government.

He expressed optimism that the reconstruction would significantly ease the commuting challenges faced by residents and boost the local economy.

The governor assured that multiple teams would work simultaneously to expedite the project, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure in Ogun State and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
