Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traore made some bold statements at the recent Russia-Africa Summit.
He declared that the days of Africa being subservient to Western powers are over.
Traore criticized his fellow African leaders for being too dependent on foreign aid and handouts from the West.
He argued that this dependency has kept Africa in a state of modern slavery to imperialist regimes.
President Traore believes it’s time for Africa to break free of these shackles. He pointed out that the continent is rich in resources and has the potential to be self-sufficient.
But to achieve true independence, Traore said African nations need to unite and fight for their sovereignty.
He called for a new relationship with global powers, one based on mutual respect and non-interference. Traore made it clear that Africa is done being exploited and is ready to chart its own course in the world.
His fiery words resonated with many who dream of an Africa that is free from Western domination once and for all.
