A two-storey residential building in the Kubwa area of Abuja collapsed this Saturday morning, trapping many occupants.

Four people have been rescued so far, with two more suspected to be trapped.

The building, which was formerly a hotel and then a hospital, has been a residential apartment since the hospital owners vacated the premises.

Rescue operations are ongoing, with teams from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Police Force, Federal Fire Service, FCT Fire Service, and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) working to rescue those still trapped.

The rescued persons have been rushed to the Kubwa General Hospital, while a few others managed to escape on their own before the building collapsed.
