The operation took place in Keffi, just 33 kilometers from Abuja, where Sani was intercepted while attempting to transport the ammunition to her home state of Katsina.

Accompanying her was a two-year-old child, raising concerns about the child’s safety amidst the dangerous situation.

Police spokesperson Ramhan Nansel reported that Sani had received the ammunition supply from Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area.

Alongside the ammunition, officers also seized a mobile phone and a cash sum of N78,500 from her.

The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered that both Sani and the recovered ammunition be transferred to the Force Intelligence Department in Abuja for further investigation.

This incident underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illegal arms trafficking in Nigeria, a growing concern for national security.
