Tesla CEO Elon Musk has accepted Donald Trump’s offer to serve in his cabinet if elected president in 2024.

In a brief post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk shared an AI-generated image of himself standing at a podium labeled “Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),” along with the caption “I am willing to serve.”

“I am willing to serve”, says Elon Musk.

The response comes after Trump said he would consider appointing Musk to a cabinet position or advisory role in his administration, praising him as a “very smart” and “brilliant guy.”

Trump also hinted at potentially reversing the $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit, which Musk has supported.

Musk had publicly endorsed Trump’s candidacy last month after an assassination attempt on the former president.

The two recently held a two-hour discussion on X, during which Musk expressed interest in joining a government commission to study the national debt and Congressional spending.

While some have speculated about Musk’s potential involvement in a future Trump administration, the billionaire has not yet directly commented on whether he would accept a formal position.

However, his “I am willing to serve” response has sparked a flurry of reactions on X, with one user suggesting the “perfect name” for Musk’s department: the “Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
