Israel has called on NATO to expel Turkey from the alliance after Turkish President Erdogan threatened military intervention against Israel over its actions in Gaza.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz urged NATO members to condemn Turkey and demand its expulsion, stating that “Erdogan is following in the footsteps of Saddam Hussein and threatening to attack Israel”.

The call for Turkey’s expulsion comes in response to Erdogan’s remarks criticizing Israel’s actions in Gaza, where he stated, “We must be very strong so that Israel can’t do these ridiculous things to Palestine.

Just like we entered Karabakh, just like we entered Libya, we might do similar to them.”Katz likened Erdogan to Hitler and accused Turkey of supporting Hamas, which Israel considers a terrorist organisation.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry responded by comparing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler as well.
