Russia’s Ministry of Defense has announced a bounty of 15 million rubles (approximately $200,000) for the first Russian military personnel who are able to shoot down an American-made F-15 or F-16 fighter jet in Ukraine.

This announcement comes as a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has seen the involvement of Western military aid and equipment.

The United States, Netherlands, and Denmark have recently revealed that an initial batch of over 60 F-16 fighter jets is on its way to Ukraine and is expected to be operational later this summer.
These advanced fighter jets are seen as a crucial addition to Ukraine’s air defense capabilities, as they can provide air superiority and support ground operations.
