The APC has initiated moves to end the marginalisation of the Igbo people, according to the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.
Ganduje stated that the Igbo can end their marginalisation and gain political freedom by joining the APC.
The APC also wants to win Abia, Enugu, and Anambra states in order to end the marginalisation of the Southeast.
Ganduje believes that the alignment of these states with the ruling party will help address their political isolation.
However, the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof Charles Esimone, argues that the 1999 Nigerian constitution and the lack of a credible census are the major tools used for the marginalisation of the Southeast. He believes that the current political arrangement in Nigeria does not favour the region.
