Evra was found guilty of failing to pay close to £1 million in alimony to his ex-wife. The judges ruled that Evra had effectively “abandoned” his family during this period.

Evra has launched an appeal against the decision, with his lawyer claiming “the facts are disputed” by his client. However, the court ordered Evra to pay his ex-wife €4,000 for moral damages and €2,000 in legal costs.

COMMENTARIES:

@Homiebishop: “Women will always lie about a man not taking care of his kids just because they couldn’t get everything they want from him. I don’t want to believe Evra abandoned his children.

@EvansOchinyere: “Very good . You don’t abandon your responsibilities to a woman. This will serve as a deterrent to other men who are planning to do the Same”.

@QUEENOFBLUES1: “Even with all the money he has and now that he’s not actively playing again, what stops him from caring for his family.Na wa o!”.
