Actor and politician John Dumelo has refuted recent reports suggesting that he claimed university women were pursuing him romantically. The rumors circulated after a video of Dumelo’s interview with Joselyn Dumas surfaced online on Monday, April 1, 2024.
In the interview, Dumelo purportedly stated that students from the University of Ghana, the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and other female fans were expressing interest in him. However, Dumelo clarified on social media that the interview actually took place about 10 years ago, around 2014 to 2015.
He urged Ghanaians to disregard the reports, dismissing them as baseless and deserving of contempt. The actor-turned-politician, who aspires to become the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon on the NDC’s ticket, emphasized that the claims were unfounded.
